The simple joys

プチ幸せ 　/　 小幸福

The weather has not been that conducive for diamond dust / sun-pillar this winter. I was on the verge of giving up hope of seeing any when I chanced upon a beautiful pillar of light in the most ordinary of places - between two houses.

This encounter reminded me of what my gyrotonic / gyrokinesis teacher, Akemi Inoue, often tells us during class. She encourages us to find joy in the ordinary, and to cherish and be grateful for these simple joys, or プチ幸せ (puchi-shiawase), in our lives.
